Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: track and track guide (part 16, Propeller Trophy)

End of the game, for now: the tracks and tracks available so far in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe close with the guide to the Propeller Trophy

We know, we know: stop now with the guide to tracks and tracks di Mario Kart 8 Deluxe “Thrills” us as much as you do, but if the DLC of the Additional Paths Pass it will be released in stages until the end of 2024 we can't do anything about it. Anyway, if you are here it is to once again review all four circuits of today together. And the protagonists of the Propeller Trophy will be the following: we will start from Tour Sprint in Sydney, then passing through GBA Terra delle Nevi, through the alpine ridge of Wii Gola Fungo and, finally, Cieli Stracciatella. Which, as happened with Covo Ninja, has clearly "cheated", being a creation of Tour.

Tour Sprint a Sydney

The last (for now, we remember it again) four tracks start with one of the new tracks inspired by the real world: your driving skills will have to adapt to the southern hemisphere, because today Mario Kart 8 Deluxe takes us to Australia. Whose capital, in case the most distracted don't remember, is Canberra. But we all know which Australian city is the most famous, and Tour Sprint a Sydney he's here to take us… well, around Sydney. Obviously.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: track and track guide (part 16, Propeller Trophy)

  • Layout: The first straight soon gives way to a right-hand bend, followed by a short straight and a left-hander. Going to the Sydney Opera House, folks… just for a right turn before a glide. A bend to the right awaits you under the bridge, and after the bend you will find yourself on the Sydney Harbor Bridge. You can decide whether to go to the sides, exposing yourself to the throwing of instruments from the passengers of the train, or under the central scaffolding. The hairpin to the left, the curve to the right and the other hairpin to the left conclude the first lap. At the second you will have to immediately turn left, and after two ramps, three curves await you (left, right, left). Continue to skirt the shore for the next few bends and you will find yourself walking backwards over the Sydney Harbor Bridge, this time enjoying the ramp with which to go up the scaffolding. A left, right and left turn will lead you to a glide. You will land on a straight before a right hand bend after which only another straight awaits you and, on the left, the finish line. The last lap is the first backwards.
  • Valutazione: Of the four "real world" leads seen so far, this is perhaps the most successful. We wouldn't want to take anything away from the other three cities, but Sydney has lent itself much better to the handling of Mario Kart. 9,5 / 10.

GBA Land of Snows - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe track and track guide

After what happened with GBA Giardino Nuvola, finally back to the glories of GBA Terra del Formaggio and GBA Strada del Fiocco. The reinterpretation of the layout this time does not distort anything, but the rest GBA Land of Snows it has never “risked” anything: it is a track that makes its triumphal return here without going through Mario Kart Tour. Therefore, keeping both the curves and the abstraction of the background intact!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: track and track guide (part 16, Propeller Trophy)

  • Layout: The first curve to the left and the next to the right are sloping, but it is nothing that will compromise your driving. After the straight, a right-hand bend awaits you, then a left-hand bend on the ice (with the resulting slip). The next climb introduces a ramp, the only real novelty compared to the original game. The hairpin to the right will lead you to a short straight, from which you can cut the two curves (right-left) if you have a mushroom. A last curve to the right finally concludes the route.
  • Valutazione: A little anecdote about who writes to you, if you have read his biography on this site. That famous "love for Nintendo" was definitively consecrated with Mario Kart: Super Circuit in Christmas 2001, received together with the console. To make sure there were no surprises under the tree, the father of a very young Alessandro allowed him to preview that window on a “portable Crash Team Racing”. Loving the snow, the future editor chose Snow Land for a test drive. No favoritism, of course. 11/10.

Wii Mushroom Throat - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe track and track guide

The canyon already revised in Mario Kart 7 also returns, albeit with a few years of delay, among the circuits of the successor. The equivalent of the celestial levels of the New Super Mario Bros. series makes its reappearance, but Wii Gola Fungo will it be as we remembered it?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: track and track guide (part 16, Propeller Trophy)

  • Layout: After the first two curves (left, right), a ramp awaits you followed by a mushroom-trampoline. Make the most of it for any stunts and the left-hand bend will lead you to a crossroads. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the trampolines and not even calculate the widest road on the left; go right and cut the curve without too much trouble. In the cave after the curve to the left you will find a sort of fork in the air: on the left you can abuse the acrobatics with the red trampolines, at the risk of putting yourself at the mercy of inertia; on the right, however, you will be able to continue more slowly with the stability of the green platforms. At the center of the abyss, however, an unprecedented blue trampoline awaits you, with which you will open the hang glider. Outside the cave, a last bend to the left awaits you before the finish line.
  • Valutazione: Despite its gameplay ideas, this early game track doesn't have much to offer. There are far better mountain trails. 7/10.

Stracciatella skies

You can imagine how exhausting work in a transalpine ice cream parlor (at the time of writing this guide, August 2024) can make those who write to you happy to see a track literally called Stracciatella skies. Well, if nothing else, having started this journey with Dolce Dolce Canyon has raised a very “greedy” question: will there be a sub-zero version for the hottest palates?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: track and track guide (part 16, Propeller Trophy)

  • Layout: The silhouette of the track makes it, seen from above, conceptually almost identical to Arena Excitebike. Too bad there is nothing further from the truth! At the start of the race, a blue ramp awaits you for gliding. Regardless of where you land, the descent (with handrail in the center) will lead you to the first hairpin bend. After the 180 ° bend to the left, an uphill fork awaits you. Be careful how you get off: it is not easy to see the wafer platforms in front of you well in advance. At the end of this difficult section, the two roads of the crossroads will rejoin for the second bend, followed by a straight that leads to the finish line.
  • Valutazione: It almost seems strange that this path comes from Tour, because the level design is definitely above average. After all, the Ninja Den had already accustomed us well; it may not be within everyone's reach already at the first test, but those who practice will benefit more and more from this track. 9/10. See you again when the next DLC comes out!
