In this review we will talk about a Medion home PC, in particular the E4251 model, which stands out for its price and performance
When you are talking about Personal Computer we enter into topics that are sometimes complex and never banal. Often, as we have already explained in a dedicated article, we tend to think that the quality of the components comes exclusively from American, Chinese or Taiwanese companies. Today, however, we are talking about an excellence of the old continent, a PC produced by a German company, Medion, also thanks to a collaboration with Lenovo. The model under analysis today, l’E4251, it certainly combines a very competitive price with respectable components. Let's not get lost in a further chat because there is really a lot to say.

Design and first impressions | Medion E4251 review
Let's start with the design, the real strength of this home Personal Computer environment A look for sure eye-catching, materials not so common in such low-end computers that they return a very good feedback. The input / output ports are well distributed on both sides and the screen, with Full HD resolution, is also a good compromise. Also worthy of note for the keyboard, with a race some keys deserve it good. It turns out in fact a lot easy to get used to and immediately feel at ease.
The black color is really spot on and gives an almost premium air to a computer. Clearly all these advantages on an aesthetic level go in some way to confront some compromises on the hardware side, which we will still discuss and dissect properly.
Who is this computer suitable for? | Medion E4251 review
The default operating system mode is Windows S, light version of the famous Microsoft operating system. The limitations in this sense they are a lot stringent. In fact, with this version of the operating system, you can go and use only those applications that can be downloaded from the Windows Store (to be clear, only those with the extension "Universal Winside Platform "). So you will have to forget about Chrome, Firefox, but also notepad++, LibreOffice, VLC and so on and so forth.
Even at the level of hardware compatibility, the operating system mode only allows the use of devices with downloadable drivers means Windows Update. Therefore, the use of third-party hardware with drivers that can be downloaded from other portals or from CD-ROM should be forgotten.
It is evident that these limitations are not, however, of such great narrowness contextualized in targeted use scenarios. It is clear that this DON'T è un computer da gaming, it is not a computer with which to open 3/4 different windows and work on heavy software. However it is a computer that, used according to its purpose of use, turns out really nice. In fact, using it with Windows S and, supplied, Microsoft Edge o App in Cloud, it appears anyway super usable, not presenting any slowdowns whatsoever.
As I said a few lines above, the S mode can be deactivated, thus opening up a world from the point of view of compatibility and productivity. However, this is a move that we feel we should advise against, precisely because it would "violate" the stakes set by Medion for a computer in this price range. By deactivating the S mode, in fact, you can incur numerous system blocks, conspicuous slowdowns and you will ruin the user experience. Just for completeness of the review information, we would like to emphasize that a processor like the Intel Celeron N4020, or the one mounted by this PC is suitable for a very basic use. Also for this, the processor has scored a score of 380 su Cinebench R20.
Conclusions and prices
Like any computer, this too Medion E4251 must be contextualized for the price range it occupies. We found a mature PC, suitable only for school and recreational use cases. Suitable for watching some videos on YouTube simple navigation with Microsoft Edge su Facebook and little more. It would also be very good for some students who are interested in taking simple notes during lessons and little more. We are sure, in fact, that if you know how to use and understand the potential of this device well, you will take away various satisfactions, starting from the small expense necessary to take it home.
