We are faced with a complete and effective product that can save us time and effort. Does vacuuming solids and liquids in one pass while mopping the floor seem like a dream? Thanks to Dreame H12 it can be done but let's discover together its strengths and weaknesses in this review dedicated to this newcomer on the home cleaning market.
Packaging and design Review Dreame H12
If we had to describe in three words the chosen style and the contents of the package we would certainly use these terms: elegant, complete and functional.
Starting from the packaging you can see a great attention to detail. Nothing is left to chance; every part of the vacuum cleaner is perfectly packed and by taking a look at the outer box it is possible to snatch a myriad of information. In addition to showing us detailed photos of the product, the packaging also reveals its main functions. All this allows us to have a complete picture of the possibilities of use.
Once the various packaging has been unwrapped, there is a precise and complete series of very useful accessories. In addition to our vacuum cleaner we find in fact the charging base that will allow us to comfortably contain the spare rotating brush and a spare epa filter. The accessories holder parts of the base are not fixed and if you are interested in reducing the footprint of the base you can do it by removing them.
Obviously inside the package we also find the motor body with already the two tanks, clean water and recovery water, the handle that must be inserted and the battery charger.
Attractive design
Speaking of design, we find a simple but elegant line with tapered curves and well-defined features. Space management is optimal. Dreame has in fact decided, unlike competing brands, to bring both tanks on the front. By doing so, the footprint has decreased and the design has certainly gained. However, it must be said that the tanks are smaller than the average which generally amount to one liter for each, on the contrary our H12 comes with a 900 milliliter tank for clean water and one of only 500 milliliters for the dirty one.
In a nutshell, we have chosen to reward design over comfort, or rather it might seem so but in reality this choice also leads to weight savings that, even if only slightly, makes you feel if like us you have a house on several levels. and the stairs are a must.
The very large display provides us with all the necessary information and allows us to always keep an eye on the battery and the suction mode. To change the mode of use (automatic or suction) just press the button on the handle.
In automatic mode our Dreame H12 will detect the density of dirt and color the ring on the display according to what is detected (Green for light dirt, orange for intermediate dirt and red for more stubborn stains).
All important information as well as being visible on the screen can also be heard through the voice of our vacuum cleaner.
Usage and performance | Dreame H12 review
We have been using this cordless vacuum cleaner for about three weeks and are now ready to give our opinion.
To give it a complete look, we tried this vacuum cleaner on different types of surfaces and different tiles by deliberately (and sometimes not doing it on purpose) dirtying our walkable surfaces.
Let's talk about autonomy
The power stands at 200 W which offers a good suction result for both solids and liquids. Obviously a slightly higher power than some of the directly competing models lowers the time of use with a single charge. With a full charge (about 5 hours) we could use our Dreame H12 for about 30 minutes, not exactly an eternity. Unfortunately the usage time is very limited and a second backup battery is almost a must if you have a medium sized home.
Daily tests and uses
The automatic function can efficiently distinguish the type of dirt and reacts promptly to the change in power.
We have never found ourselves unhappy in the moments of aspiration, whether it is for powders or liquids.
Although the autonomy is not the most encouraging if passed once a day (therefore not allowing to excessively increase the dirt on the surfaces) it is possible to keep the floors shiny and well disinfected, everything is possible also thanks to the excellent detergent in equipment.
The tanks are suitable for the purpose even if a small increase in capacity of the one dedicated to dirty water would certainly not have hurt. Overall, however, also given the battery life, the choices are quite adequate.
The self-cleaning system is also excellent. After returning the vacuum cleaner to the base and pressing the appropriate button, it will wash the brush and the exhaust pipe passing all the dirt into the appropriate container. A tip from us is to alternate the brushes and always put the one just used to dry so as not to allow the creation of any bad smells deriving from the humidity of the brush itself.
Who should buy Dreame H12?
In conclusion we are faced with a beautiful, elegant and functional product. There are some small flaws such as low autonomy and slightly reduced tanks in size.
As for the suction phases, whether it is solids or liquids, the power is more than enough e also thanks to the brush drive system, carrying out daily cleaning will be almost a pleasure.
Thanks to Dreame H12 you can throw away rags and brushes even if you always have to calculate the recharge times.
Although in our opinion Dreame H12 does not want to completely replace the classic vacuum broom, it is certainly a valid ally to be combined with our small appliances.
Daily cleaning and small domestic accidents, such as a glass of fruit juice spilled on the floor, will be addressed with a smile and seen as a great excuse to use our new Dreame H12.
