New HiBy RS2: in search of the perfect sound

HiBy has launched the new HiBy RS2 digital audio player, with the aim of seeking the prefect sound thanks to R2R based on the Darwin premium architecture

Last year, Hiby (here to visit the site) has released the revolutionary RS6 digital audio player. The reader laid the foundation forR2R-based premium Darwin architecture for portable digital audio players for the brand. Carrying on the legacy imposed by the RS6, HiBy has released the latest RS2 portable digital audio player. With HiBy's internally developed Darwin audio architecture, the RS2 has all the best features of the DAC R2R with modern functions like adjustable FIR filter, harmonic controller, NOS / OS switch, etc. In addition, the version with HiBy OS PureAudio is also available.

Details of the new HiBy RS2

There is no Android, just pure musical pleasure awaits you with the latest RS2. HiBy designed the RS2 with a compact form factor, packing a full R2R array in a retro design. The player comes loaded with a pure operating system specifically tailored for a simplified user interface and menu structure. Based on the same architecture Darwin Audio, the latest RS2 brings the R2R ladder network DAC array to a more pocket-sized segment. It officially launches for $ 479,00, and is currently available for pre-order.

Darwin architecture

Darwin Architecture is HiBy's in-house developed high resolution audio signal processing technology offering the technology Retro R2R with advanced modern features. Effectively reduces distortion caused by resistor mismatch in a array ladder R2R producing a clean and natural output. RS2 also offers the OS mode (OverSampling) and NOS (Non-OverSampling) mode offering a personalized experience for users with different IEMs and headsets. The Darwin architecture here houses a 256-touch adjustable FIR filter. It is capable of up to 16 times oversampling with a variety of AA filters such as Phase Linearity, High Fidelity, etc.

FPGA clock system

HiBy featured a system of clock FPGA with precise double crystal oscillators on RS2. RS2 uses clock at 45,158 MHz / 49,152 MHz to reduce phase noise and jitter. The player is equipped with a high current mode amplifier circuit with an OPA1652 and an LPF circuit with two OPA1612 chips. RS2 packs powerful performance with a clean and noise-free output. As for the headphone outputs, the RS2 is equipped with 3,5mm single-ended headphone output and balanced by 4,4 mm. HiBy RS2 supports high resolution PCM and DSD signals. Supports PCM signals up to 32-Bit / 384kHz and native DSD256 decoding. RS2 also supports 8x MQA deployment delivering great performance in the palm of your hands. It can also work as USB DAC with your system. RS2 also supports outputs line-out / coaxial. HiBy has designed the RS2 with two memory card slots, each of which supports up to 2 TB of microSD cards.

Big battery for a long life

HiBy RS2 has a large battery from 3500 mAh. Provides a continuous music playback for up to 10 hours on a single charge. The standby time is up to 40 days. HiBy RS2 brings amazing Darwin R2R technology to your pocket in a small and versatile form factor. It is a rather promising device that packs a musical and lively sound signature for its users. The RS2 is now available for pre-order, you can check out more information here.
