The F1 headphones are among the best-selling products at the time of OneOdio True Wireless entry level, with touch controls, good battery life, is 10mm driver, but no more chatter, let's get to the heart of the review with the OneOdio F1.

Unboxing and design | OneOdio F1 review

In the box, we find various information reported, and the technical specifications of the product. Inside, in addition to the headphones and the relative charging case, we have the charging cable, obviously Tipe C, two pairs of rubber pads. They are relatively the Big and Small sizes, the Medium sizes will already be mounted on the headphones.

The construction in general is average, we have simple plastic for the construction of headphones and cases, with no particular surface treatments. Plain, smooth plastic. The headphones, however, are compact to the touch, do not emit creaks, and appear to be robust. Solid in the same way is the charging case, the only drawback is the hinge, which is not among the most stable tested. What does it mean? That she is not very sturdy, easy to creak, and that she "plays" too easily. Nothing that affects its use, but it should be reported.

On the other hand, what could negatively affect use is the magnetic closure, and the resistance in maximum opening of the zipper once the upper part is opened. The hinge, as mentioned, is not very strong, and the magnet the opposite, so when you open the lid it does not stay open, it must be held still, otherwise it closes at the speed of light magnetically. Even if placed on a surface, the hinge closes. So for the extraction of the headphones you have to keep the case open at the top.

The headphones lodge in the case magnetically so there is no risk of them falling out, and extraction is quick and easy. There is no grip that hinders the extraction. Likewise, insertion is quick and unproblematic.

The design is simple with no particular elements that stand out, a mix between minimal and elegant. We have the logo engraved underneath 4 spie LED which obviously indicate the state of the battery. These LEDs light up whenever we interact either with the headphones, or with the case by simply opening it.

How do these headphones sound? | OneOdio F1 review

The OneOdio F1 have a 10mm driver, optimized with aluminum parts to make the membrane more stable. The driver is made in graphene.

To sum it all up, we can say that the headphones sound good on average. To be specific, we can say that in the mids, mixed highs, the clarity is quite good, allows an enjoyable and pleasant listening, where instead it lacks intensity and depth are the bass, very little present, trying to adjust them from third-party apps, the situation seems to improve but it is a somewhat artificial result. Good mids therefore, with sinful lows. The high tones, on the other hand, do well, with little distortion.

In my opinion, the headphones are a mixture of the In Ear, and the Open Fit, as the rubber is present but it is not very invasive as a design. This for some is an advantage for others less, especially for those who want headphones that just close the channel. In any case, once worn, you will hear external sounds, and there is no "plugging" sensation. However, this means that outdoors in some scenarios you will need to turn up the maximum volume a lot. And relative to this, the maximum volume that the headphones reach I must say that it is very good, in the average. With volume between 80 and 90% you can still hear external sounds, but the audio is enjoyable without problems.

How do they go on call?

These headphones have 2 microphones. The two holes inside the head, just behind the grommet, are dedicated to the air passage function, for optimal sound output. The two microphones I must say surprised me for the price range we are in.

The microphones work in sync, with the peculiarity that in the microphone placed on the lower shaft it captures the speaker's voice, the higher one reduces environmental noises. I performed some recording tests, from the voice note app, on WhatsApp and on call. The audio is always clear, with a voice that is not at all metallic and distorted. A great job from OneOdio.

Especially thanks to the stick design that favors this work by the microphones. It also works well in noise suppression, with flowing water noise, light wind, and background voices. Where they go into crisis, is when the noise becomes too loud, it has happened several times that, with strong wind, many background voices, and ambient noises, the reverberation increases, making the voice very distorted, which continues to be audible, but it is difficult to understand the words.

In the vast majority of cases the interlocutor will always hear you well, and overall I was very impressed by the quality of the microphones, which far exceeds the quality of the Driver for listening to music.

Let's talk about connection instead, the OneOdio F1 are based on Bluetooth 5.0 with low latency and battery consumption. And indeed it is, the battery is very good, as in a week at least for my use, they have been fully recharged, considering the case, only 3 times. The headphones in terms of duration, without putting them away from the case, I mean, allowed me to reach 3/4 hours on average, with a mixed use made of calls, and listening to music. A modest duration I must say, I also managed to do about 4 and a half hours, with a use more aimed at listening to music. The case according to some tests made specifically aimed at completely discharging the headphones, recharged from 0 to 100, 3 times. Or rather, 3 times fully, the last remaining charge charged the headphones halfway. The battery of the headphones is 50mAh, while that of the case is 300mAh. The recharge takes place in about an hour or so.

Definitely good behavior I must say. To use technicalities instead, the Chip used for the bluetooth is an AD6973D, with a capacity to cover ranges up to 10 meters. So the data sheet reports, but even in 3-storey homes, and at 15 meters, headphones have never disconnected. Besides yes. The impedance is 32 ohms.

Usage features | OneOdio F1 review

I tested the headphones on Apple and Android devices (an Oppo and a Samsung for this case), and in both cases they worked perfectly equally. The advantage of using them with Android is that through the adjustment and customization App, such as Hey melody, you can customize commands, and adjust values such as tones and frequencies, or latencies and touch sensitivity.

Speaking of sensitivity, the headphones have touch controls on the flat surface of the top, the area is indicated by the brand logo. Thanks to the fit that is excellent, and allows the headphones not to fall, even during gym or running activities, the touch touch controls do not move the headset, which always remains fixed in place.

The controls work great with both ISO and Android. The headphones support voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri and Google. By default the headphones have this scheme, with a touch you activate the Play / pause of a song, or you answer, or close a call, holding down for about a second starts the voice assistant, holding down the single headphones for a long time is completely off.

The OneOdio F1 instantly connects to the device once detected by bluetooth, and the next pairing is almost instant when taken out of the case.
