Google Assistant will read the content of any web page aloud. The feature was previewed at CES in Las Vegas by the Mountain View giant who plans to turn his virtual assistant into a screen reader. A function that could come in handy in many cases. We think, for example, that we have to search for content but cannot have our eyes on the screen to read it. Just ask the assistant to do it for us.
The screen reader is certainly nothing new, but Big-G claims to have improved Google Assistant's sentence analysis capabilities which - now - he should pronounce them more naturally and closer to human language. An interesting aspect is that we can ask the assistant to read a certain web page aloud in 42 different languages. To do this, it will use the proprietary translation service, Google Translate.
In the future, the tech giant also plans to introduce automatic page scrolling and the ability to highlight text. For the moment, however, it was just a preview. We therefore do not know when it will actually be released to users. Google has announced more news coming to its virtual assistant, used by over 500 million people every month.

For example, we could say “Hey Google, turn on the lights at 20 pm” and it will do it automatically.
